Related-Key Differential Attack on Round Reduced RECTANGLE-80
نویسندگان
چکیده
RECTANGLE is a newly proposed lightweight block cipher which allows fast implementations for multiple platforms by using bitslice techniques. It is an iterative 25-round SPN block cipher with a 64-bit block size and a 80-bit or 128-bit key size. Until now, the results on analyzing the cipher are not too much, which includes an attack on the 18-round reduced version proposed by the designers themselves. In this paper, we find all 15-round differential characteristics with 26–30 active S-boxes for given input, output and round subkey differences, which have a total probability 2−60.5. Based on these differential characteristics, we extend the corresponding distinguisher to 2 rounds backward and forward respectively, and propose an attack on the 19-round reduced RECTANGLE-80 with data complexity of 2 plaintexts, time complexity of about 2 encryptions and memory complexity of 2. TThese data and time complexities are much lower than that of the designers for the 18-round reduced RECTANGLE-80.

Impossible Differential Cryptanalysis on Deoxys-BC-256
Deoxys is a final-round candidate of the CAESAR competition. Deoxys is built upon an internal tweakable block cipher Deoxys-BC, where in addition to the plaintext and key, it takes an extra non-secret input called a tweak. This paper presents the first impossible differential cryptanalysis of Deoxys-BC-256 which is used in Deoxys as an internal tweakable block cipher. First, we find a 4.5-round...
متن کاملRelated-Key Rectangle Attack on Round-reduced Khudra Block Cipher
Khudra is a block cipher proposed in the SPACE’2014 conference, whose main design goal is to achieve suitability for the increasingly popular Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) implementation. It is an 18-round lightweight cipher based on recursive Feistel structure, with a 64-bit block size and 80-bit key size. In this paper, we compute the minimum number of active F -functions in differenti...
متن کاملCryptanalysis of Reduced Versions of the HIGHT Block Cipher from CHES 2006
HIGHT is a 32-round block cipher with a 64-bit block size and a 128-bit user key, which was proposed at CHES ’06 for low-resource applications like RFID. In this paper, we present an impossible differential attack on 25-round HIGHT, a related-key rectangle attack on 26round HIGHT, and finally a related-key impossible differential attack on 28-round HIGHT. Our result suggests that the safety mar...
متن کاملCombined Differential, Linear and Related-Key Attacks on Block Ciphers and MAC Algorithms
Differential and linear attacks are the most widely used cryptanalytic tools to evaluate the security of symmetric-key cryptography. Since the introduction of differential and linear attacks in the early 1990’s, various variants of these attacks have been proposed such as the truncated differential attack, the impossible differential attack, the square attack, the boomerang attack, the rectangl...
متن کاملDifferential and Linear Cryptanalysis of Reduced-Round Simon
This paper presents differential attacks of round-reduced versions of Simon with up to 18/32, 19/36, 25/44, 35/54, and 46/72 rounds for the 32-, 48-, 64-, 96-, and 128-bit versions, respectively. Furthermore, we consider in brief related-key rectangle, impossible-differential, and also linear attacks. While all our attacks are completely academic, they demonstrate the drawback of the intensive ...
